I'm Casey, an abstract painter based in Geelong.

At 39, with five months until I turn 40, I'm in a period that feels both urgent and clear. I genuinely love this age. There's an excitement to it I wasn't expecting. Some days it almost feels like turning 20 again, a whole new life ahead, a chance to write something completely new. Except this time, I have the privilege to do it with the knowledge and life experience I didn't have back then.

This past year pulled me away from the studio. Uncertainty clouded my creativity. I took time to teach, even considered returning to study, but everything kept circling back to the same place: making art.

So I redirected, and came home.

That's often the challenge of a mind that wants to do everything at once. It's also what I love about how I work.

Stepping back gave me space to quiet the noise and tune into what I actually want. What I found is simple, or not so simple... building a creative business and leading with passion. 

This next chapter is about intention. But really... it comes down to something simpler, freedom.
